If you happen to have a dog in your household, then you’re probably wondering whether or not they can eat jelly beans. The answer is that while dogs cannot digest the sugar contained within jelly beans, it won’t harm them to eat them. However, we recommend only giving your pet one at a time and not more than two per day due to the amount of sugar in each bean.

Key Points: * Dogs cannot eat sugar, so while they won’t get sick from eating jelly beans (unless there is some other food in the bean that might cause an allergic reaction), they still can’t digest them. *

Jelly beans are typically made of gelatin which contains animal byproducts such as hooves and horns. If your dog has a strong stomach or if you’re not worried about this then it shouldn’t be harmful to give them one at a time. However, we recommend only giving your pet one at a time and not more than two per day due to the amount of sugar in each bean.
