A common misconception is that chinchillas can’t get wet. This couldn’t be further from the truth! In fact, they should swim at least once a week to stay healthy and live longer.

One important thing to keep in mind though is that you must let your pet dry off completely before letting them back into their cage or enclosure. Otherwise, they could develop serious health problems such as hypothermia or pneumonia!

Tip:

Never hold your chinchilla in the water for more than a few minutes. If you don’t, they could develop hypothermia or pneumonia!
