Feeding a bearded dragon can be tricky, especially if you don’t know what they like to eat. So we’ve put together this list of things that bearded dragons can and cannot eat so you’ll have an easier time picking out the right food for your pet! Bearded dragons are omnivores, meaning that they will eat both plants and animals. They enjoy eating vegetables such as carrots, lettuce, collard greens, broccoli, cucumbers, tomatoes and cantaloupe.
They also enjoy fruits such as apples or pears (no seeds), bananas (without skin) or berries of any kind. But even with all these options there is still one thing that should be avoided at all cost: chocolate! Bearded dragons also enjoy some insects, such as crickets and mealworms. But worms should be avoided because they can have a negative effect on the dragon’s coat. As for other animals that bearded dragons like to eat: fish (no scales), chicken livers or canned cat food with the skin removed.
It is important not to feed too much of these things at once though! To keep your pet healthy, it’s best if you offer him water every day in addition to his regular diet. You’ll want to change out his water bowl about twice per week and clean it thoroughly after each use by rinsing it with warm water then disinfectant made specifically for reptiles before refilling it again with fresh water.
