It’s true that the quality of today’s conversion tools has taken the world by storm. But they could do a better job of getting homeowners to engage with the technology.
You can’t really compare the quality of conversion tools to the quality of today’s web design. And it’s unlikely that you would get the same results using conversion tools of the past. It seems that these days, homeowners are more interested in the appearance of the conversion, not the actual function of the conversion. What can one do about it? Ask the questions.
The best thing is to ask questions. Ask for input and receive it, not the other way around. If you have questions, the conversion will do a better job of answering those questions. If you don’t have questions, the conversion will not do a great job of answering your questions.
Using conversion tools of the past can actually be a bad thing, because not only does it hide behind a fake “conversion”, but it makes it harder for the home owner to make certain decisions about the conversion, like what types of paint to use. We’ve seen this happen so often times that the conversion industry has begun lobbying for certain states to have laws against using these “conversions”.
The conversion industry has a lot of influence in state legislatures because companies like Home Depot and Lowe’s are in it for the money. The idea is if some state law prevents a company from using a conversion service, then companies like Lowe’s and Home Depot will use that as an excuse to pass legislation. The problem is most conversion vendors don’t want to be saddled with laws that prevent them from doing things, because they know if they’re doing it they need to make money.
But there is a way to fix this. Why dont any conversion vendors pass their own laws that prevent them from doing conversions? This would make it obvious to all conversion companies that the state is not interested in their services and they should drop the services. In fact, that is something that state legislatures should absolutely do. But why should they? It would be a lot easier to stop a company from making money if they could just make it illegal for them to do that.
There is a lot of money in the conversion business, and it is not going to be stopped by making it illegal to do so. But the problem is that in a lot of cases, conversion companies are in the business of selling their services to businesses. When someone is selling a service to a business, it is the business’s job to make it legal to sell the service, but it is not the business’s job to make it illegal to sell the service.
However, there is a way to create an environment where it is the businesss job to make it illegal to sell a service, by making it difficult for them to do so. If you have a business that you sell services to and they have a sales tax and you want to make it easy for them to sell their services to customers, you could make it so that only some of the services they sell are legally sold and others are not.
