We have the 2009 Acura TL 3.7 Technology Package and our high performance tires, but you can probably find the package for your 2009 Acura with the 2012 Acura TL 3.7 Technology Package for just a few extra dollars at some dealers.
We got a lot of great information about the new technology package and high performance tires from the Acura engineers in our video review a few weeks back, so be sure to check it out.
Acura claims that their new technology package includes a new engine that was developed for the TL 3.7, called the “Acura TCL”, and it will make your TL 3.7 ride even better. There’s no word on what the new technology package will include, but if you’re interested in your 2008 Acura TL 3.7, you can find it for about $5,000.
The TL 3.7 uses a 1.6-liter inline-4 making it an old-school, front-drive package. It was the first to have a turbocharger, as well. The TL 2.2 used a 2.0-liter inline-4, and the TL 3.0 had a 2.3-liter which was quite a bit more powerful. Acura claims its new TCL package will make the TL 3.
The TL 3.7 is a much more aggressive package, as the TL 2.2 and TL 3.0 are both front-driven. The TL 3.7 uses a 1.6-liter inline-4 and is actually quite a bit more aggressive than its predecessors. The TL 2.2 and TL 3.0 use a 2.0-liter inline-4 and while it does have a turbocharger, the turbo is not a turbocharged 2.0-liter.
The TL 3.7 also has a new suspension. Like previous models, the TL 3.7 has an electronic suspension system. The current TL 3.7 uses a single-link dual-stage coil-spring setup with a spring rate of. This is slightly lower than the previous TL 2.2’s spring rate, so the TL 2.2 will be much more capable on corner exit.
The TL 3.7 is a more aggressive version of the TL 2.0 and the TL 3.0. The TL 2.2 and 3.7 both have a sporty three-cylinder engine, but the TL 3.7 uses a larger engine and a sportier suspension as well. The TL 3.7 was available in three trims: Base, 2S, and 3S. The TL 3.
You can also buy the TL 3.7 in a very limited edition (LED) version, designed to celebrate the TL’s 10th anniversary. The base TL 3.7 is expected to retail for $39,900, the 2S is expected to retail for $44,900, and the 3S is expected to retail for $52,200.
All three versions are available with three different engine choices. In addition to the standard 2.4L turbo, the TL 3.7 comes with a VVT six-cylinder, a four-cylinder, and a VVT six-cylinder. The TL 3.7 is available in a number of colors as well.
The TL 3.7’s high-performance tires are pretty impressive, and if you’re thinking that this is going to be a race-car car, you’re right. That is, except for the fact that it’s not a race car. We’re not sure if the engineers on the project have really thought about what it would be like to drive such a high-performance car. Even if they had, it would probably be less than fun to drive.
